Confirm the exact Polyflor floor range, shade and required weld rod code before ordering. Once the flooring has been fitted and the adhesive has cured as specified, seams should be grooved, hot-welded and trimmed in line with the installation guidance for the selected flooring system.
Polyflor Weld Rod is used to heat-weld seams in compatible Polyflor vinyl sheet flooring, creating a neat and durable joint between adjoining lengths. Selecting the correct weld rod code helps the finished seam blend with the chosen floor colour for a clean, professional result.
Supplied as a 100m coil, it is suited to larger installations and projects with multiple welded joints. It should be installed by a competent flooring professional using appropriate grooving, hot-air welding and trimming equipment.
Polyflor Weld Rod is used to heat weld joints in compatible vinyl sheet flooring, creating a sealed and hygienic finish where required. Select the correct colour and weld rod specified for the chosen floorcovering.
After the sheet vinyl has been fully adhered and the adhesive has cured sufficiently, groove each joint using suitable equipment. Remove all dust and debris from the groove before welding.
Using a professional hot-air welding gun with the correct nozzle, test the temperature and travel speed on an offcut first. Feed the rod evenly into the groove so it bonds securely with both sides of the sheet without overheating the material.
Trim the weld in the recommended stages to achieve a neat flush finish.

Polyflor Weld Rod forms part of the finished vinyl floor joint and does not require separate day-to-day maintenance. Keep unused 100m coils dry, clean and protected from crushing, contamination and excessive heat until they are required.
Once fitted, clean the completed floor in accordance with the guidance for the relevant Polyflor sheet vinyl range. During routine inspections, check welded seams for damage or separation and arrange a professional repair if required.
Avoid using sharp tools or aggressive scraping directly across welded joints.
