Before installation, make sure the subfloor is clean, dry, smooth and level. Lay the underlay flat with joins closely butted together, then tape the joins securely to prevent movement. Install a compatible carpet using the stretch-fit method and follow the carpet manufacturer’s fitting guidance.
Duralay Treadaire Granduro is a luxury polyurethane rebond carpet underlay made for a warm, quiet and comfortable home. Its 11 mm thickness gives the carpet a fuller, softer feel underfoot while providing a supportive layer between the carpet and subfloor.
Granduro offers 43 dB impact sound insulation, helping to soften the noise of footsteps around the home. Its 2.90 tog thermal rating adds useful insulation beneath the carpet, making it a particularly good choice for rooms where comfort and warmth are a priority.
Designed for stretch-fit carpet installation, this high-density PU underlay is suitable for luxury domestic use. Each roll covers 15.07 m², making it ideal for bedrooms, lounges and other main living spaces.
Bring the underlay and carpet into the room before fitting so they can acclimatise to site conditions. The subfloor must be dry, clean, flat and secure. Repair loose boards, remove protruding fasteners and rectify major surface defects before laying the underlay.
Granduro is suitable for stretch-fit carpet installation. Install gripper around the perimeter of the room, then lay the 11mm polyurethane rebond underlay smoothly across the floor. Keep all lengths close-butted, with no gaps or overlaps, and tape the joins using suitable underlay tape.
Trim the underlay neatly at walls, thresholds, door frames and fixed items. Stretch the carpet over the completed underlay using the proper fitting equipment, then secure and finish all edges in accordance with the carpet manufacturer’s instructions.

Duralay Tredaire Granduro is protected beneath the carpet and does not need separate cleaning after installation. Keep the carpet properly vacuumed and use cleaning products appropriate for its fibre and backing, taking care not to saturate the floor with water.
If a plumbing leak, flood or substantial spill allows moisture to reach the underlay, act quickly. The affected section should be checked and dried before the carpet is returned to normal use, as trapped moisture can affect the underlay, subfloor and carpet backing.
