Fit the HCS48 to a clean, sound wall surface with a suitable adhesive, following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. Use it with a compatible cove former to support the flooring as it curves up the wall, then ensure the selected resilient flooring is suitable for cap-and-cove installation.
Gradus HCS48 is a flexible PVC capping seal designed to finish the top edge of resilient flooring after it has been coved up the wall. It creates a smart, continuous skirting detail, giving the installation a more polished appearance and a surface that is easier to clean.
Suitable for resilient floorcoverings between 3 mm and 5 mm thick, HCS48 is normally used with a compatible cove former. The profile covers the exposed upper edge of the flooring, helping complete a practical wall-to-floor finish for commercial interiors.
Supplied in a 25 metre coil, it is particularly useful on larger jobs because it reduces the number of vertical joints required around the room. It is available in a choice of colours to coordinate with the flooring and surrounding finish.
Gradus HCS48 is a flexible PVC capping seal for finishing the top edge of resilient floorcoverings between 3mm and 5mm thick where they are taken up the wall. It is normally used with a compatible cove former to create a clean, protected skirting transition.
Ensure the wall surface and installed floorcovering are dry, clean, smooth and properly bonded before fitting. Plan the layout to make the best use of the 25m coil and minimise vertical joints, then cut the seal accurately and dry-fit it along the wall upstand.
Apply a suitable adhesive in accordance with the adhesive and flooring-system instructions. Position the capping seal evenly over the top edge of the floorcovering, pressing firmly along its full length so it sits straight and provides a continuous finish.
Complete corners and unavoidable joins carefully, ensuring there are no openings that could trap dirt or compromise the finished detail. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before subjecting the area to cleaning or normal traffic.

Clean the HCS48 capping seal together with the coved resilient floor and wall upstand. Routine vacuuming or damp mopping with a neutral cleaner will help prevent dust and soil gathering along the upper edge.
Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents and harsh chemicals that could affect the PVC surface or surrounding floorcovering. Check the capping seal during regular maintenance to ensure it remains continuously bonded and that no gaps have developed at joints, corners or the floor edge.
