Install BU800 onto a clean, dry and sound subfloor with a suitable proprietary contact adhesive. Use the grooves in the profile to cut it to the required height, then feather the tapered edge with a thin layer of latex cement before fitting the final floorcovering for the smoothest result.
Gradus BU800 is a flexible PVC bevelled underlay used to raise resilient flooring where it needs to meet a thicker floor finish, stair edging or trim. It provides a gradual tapered transition rather than an abrupt step, helping the finished installation look cleaner and move more safely underfoot.
Designed to build up flooring by up to 3 mm, BU800 is a useful choice where a little more height adjustment is needed than a standard 2 mm bevelled underlay can provide. Grooves running along its length give installers clear cutting points, allowing the profile to be trimmed to the level required for the job.
The 15 metre black coil is intended for interior commercial flooring projects and contains up to 50% recycled content.
Gradus BU800 is a flexible PVC bevelled underlay for internal use, designed to raise resilient floorcoverings by up to 3mm and create a gradual transition to adjacent flooring or a compatible floor trim. Its 160mm-wide profile helps reduce abrupt changes in height and associated trip risks.
Prepare the subfloor so it is dry, sound, smooth and free from contamination. Establish the correct height adjustment before cutting; the grooves running along the profile provide straight cutting guides where the required build-up is lower than the full 3mm thickness.
Cut the 15m coil to length and dry-fit each section before applying a proprietary contact adhesive suitable for the profile and subfloor. Bond it evenly across the full length, ensuring the raised side aligns correctly with the resilient floorcovering.
Feather the tapered edge with a thin layer of suitable latex smoothing compound where necessary, then allow the adhesive and smoothing material to cure fully before fitting the final floorcovering.

Clean the exposed BU800 transition as part of the normal floor-maintenance routine. Remove dust and debris with a soft brush or vacuum attachment, and wipe with a damp cloth and neutral cleaner when required.
Do not use abrasive pads, solvent-based cleaners or strong alkaline products on the flexible PVC. Check the profile periodically, especially in high-traffic areas, to make sure the tapered edge remains smooth, securely bonded and free from damage.
