Material Performance
Flexible PVC construction designed for commercial flooring applications
For a professional result, fit the capping strip to a sound, clean wall surface using a suitable adhesive. It is normally installed alongside a compatible cove former, allowing the sheet flooring to curve smoothly up the wall before being finished neatly at the top edge.
The Gradus BSXHCS2 is a flexible PVC capping strip designed to give resilient flooring a clean finish where it is continued up the wall. It neatly caps the top edge of the flooring, creating a smart skirting detail that is much easier to clean and maintain than an exposed edge.
This 2 metre black capping seal is part of the Gradus BASICZ range and is intended for resilient floorcoverings between 3 mm and 5 mm thick. Used with a compatible cove former, it helps create the smooth, curved wall-to-floor transition commonly required in hygienic commercial interiors.
Its flexible PVC construction is easy to cut and handle on site, making it a useful finishing accessory for professional safety vinyl and sheet-vinyl installations.
Gradus BSXHCS2 is a flexible PVC capping seal for completing resilient floorcoverings dressed up the wall as an integral skirting. It is designed for compatible floorcoverings between 3mm and 5mm thick and is normally used with a suitable cove former to create a smooth, cleanable floor-to-wall junction.
Prepare the wall and flooring surfaces so they are clean, dry, sound and smooth. Measure the run, cut the 2m strip accurately and dry-fit it before adhesive is applied. Use an adhesive recommended for the PVC capping profile, resilient floor covering and wall substrate.
Install the cove former and floor covering in accordance with the flooring system requirements, then position the capping strip to form a neat seal at the top of the upstand. Press it firmly into place, ensuring there are no gaps, ripples or areas of poor contact. Complete internal and external corners with the appropriate formed or carefully cut details.

Clean the visible capping strip as part of the routine care of the adjacent resilient floor and wall finish. Use a soft cloth or mop with a neutral cleaner, removing any dirt that collects along the upper edge of the floor-to-wall transition.
Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents and aggressive chemical cleaners, as they may mark or discolour the PVC. Check periodically that the capping remains firmly bonded and that the resilient flooring has not pulled away from the wall.
