Measure the doorway before fitting and trim the bar carefully if needed. Position it over the carpet join so that both carpet edges are evenly supported beneath the profile, then secure it using a suitable fixing method for the subfloor. Follow standard carpet-fitting guidance for the best result.
The Vanguard HS12 Dual Edge Silver 0.9 m is a compact aluminium door bar for creating a tidy join between two carpeted areas. It sits neatly across the threshold, covering the meeting point and giving the doorway a clean, finished look.
Its polished silver surface is a versatile choice for modern interiors and works well alongside chrome, stainless steel and grey-toned fittings. The 0.9 m length is suited to standard internal doorways, making it a straightforward finishing trim for bedrooms, hallways and connecting rooms.
The dual-edge profile is designed to secure carpet edges on both sides of the trim. It is a small but useful addition that helps make a carpet installation look more complete and considered.
Use this dual-edge profile to form a clean carpet-to-carpet join at a doorway or between adjoining carpeted areas. Measure the threshold, cut the 0.9m bar accurately to length and smooth any cut edges before positioning it.
The floor beneath must be clean, dry and sound. Centre the trim over the carpet join so both edges are supported evenly and the finished threshold lies flat. Ensure that the profile does not interfere with the opening and closing of the door.
Fix the bar securely using a method suitable for the subfloor. Carefully secure each carpet edge beneath the profile, taking care not to snag the pile or leave an uneven edge. Once fitted, test the area underfoot to make sure the doorbar is stable and the transition is neat.

Maintain the silver dual-edge doorbar by vacuuming around the threshold regularly to remove grit that could mark the profile or collect along the carpet edges. For everyday cleaning, wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry afterwards.
Do not use scouring pads, abrasive powders or harsh chemical cleaners. These may scratch the aluminium surface or affect its finish. Check the doorbar from time to time, particularly in high-traffic doorways, and tighten or replace any loose fixings promptly.
