The substrate must be clean, absorbent, sound and mechanically prepared before application. Confirm and record moisture readings, then apply STOPGAP F78 evenly in two coats at the recommended coverage rate. Allow the membrane to dry fully before applying compatible smoothing compounds, adhesives or floor coverings.
STOPGAP F78 18kg is a ready-to-use waterproof surface membrane for controlling residual construction moisture in internal subfloors before installing new floor coverings. The larger pack is suited to extensive preparation areas where a fast, single-component system helps keep application straightforward.
Applied in at least two coats, F78 forms a moisture barrier for substrates with readings up to 95% RH. Its blue colour helps the installer check coverage as they work, while the solvent-free formula needs no mixing and can be resealed after opening for later use.
STOPGAP F78 18kg is a solvent-free, one-component liquid membrane for isolating residual construction moisture before a floorcovering is installed. It requires no mixing and is applied as a two-coat system to control moisture readings up to 95% RH.
Test and document the subfloor moisture content before installation. The background must be clean, sound and absorbent, with a structural damp-proof membrane in place. Remove contamination, laitance and surface hardeners, and repair uneven or damaged areas before application.
Shake the container before use. Apply the first coat by roller, working the material well into the prepared surface. When it becomes touch dry, apply a second undiluted coat at right angles to the first. Keep the floor temperature above 10°C while applying the membrane.
At 20°C, allow around 15–30 minutes for the first coat to dry and about 30 minutes for the second coat to cure. At the required two-coat rate, the 18kg bottle covers approximately 60m² on a smooth surface.

Once STOPGAP F78 has dried, protect the membrane from contamination and physical damage until the next floor-preparation stage. Keep the surface clear of dust and do not expose it to unnecessary traffic or sharp tools.
Check the blue coating before it is covered. A uniform, pinhole-free finish is essential; apply an additional coat where the membrane has been absorbed into the substrate or weak areas remain visible.
