Ball & Young Cosi Ten is a 10mm carpet underlay designed to give domestic carpets a softer, warmer and more luxurious feel. It is a good choice for bedrooms, living rooms, lounges and other low to medium-wear areas where comfort is the main priority.
The thicker 10mm profile creates extra cushioning beneath the carpet, while the APT core provides support across the floor. This helps the carpet feel more comfortable underfoot and adds a more premium finish to the room.
Cosi Ten also helps improve warmth and reduce everyday footfall noise. With a 3.0 tog thermal rating and sound reduction of up to 44dB, it provides strong insulation performance for a domestic carpet underlay. It is lightweight, easy to handle and supplied in an orange bag.
Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, smooth and secure before fitting. Remove dust, loose material, protruding fixings and irregularities that could affect the carpet installation.
Lay the 10mm underlay flat, with the printed non-woven surface facing up towards the carpet. Butt adjoining lengths tightly together without overlapping, cut accurately around walls and door frames, and tape every seam with suitable underlay tape.
Install gripper around the room perimeter where required, then stretch-fit the carpet using the carpet manufacturer’s instructions. Cosi Ten is intended for luxury domestic areas with low-to-medium wear.

Cosi Ten Orange Bag is installed beneath carpet and needs no routine cleaning once covered. Keep the carpet clean and deal with water ingress or spills promptly to help protect the underlay and the subfloor.
If the carpet is taken up later, inspect the underlay for tears, flattening or moisture damage. Replace any affected areas before installing new carpet to preserve comfort and support.
