Install SI100/50/2 on a clean, sound wall-to-floor junction in line with Gradus fitting guidance. Use compatible resilient flooring and a suitable welding method to form the sealed finish. Professional installation is recommended, particularly in hygiene-critical environments.
Gradus SI100/50/2 is a 100 mm flexible PVC set-in skirting designed for resilient flooring installations where a continuous, hygienic finish is needed. It forms an integrated skirting detail rather than a separate surface-mounted trim, helping the floor and wall junction look clean and purposeful.
When welded to compatible flooring, the profile creates an impervious seal. This makes it particularly well suited to critical clean areas, including hospital treatment spaces, where the floor finish needs to be easy to maintain and free from difficult-to-clean gaps.
The skirting can be hot or cold welded and is supplied in a 2 metre length. Its 50 mm foot provides a secure base for installation with resilient floorcoverings.
Gradus SI100/50/2 is a 100mm-high flexible PVC set-in skirting for 2mm resilient floorcoverings. Its 50mm foot is integrated with the floor finish to create a homogeneous skirting detail, which can provide an impervious seal when correctly welded to the floorcovering.
Prepare the wall and floor substrates so they are dry, clean, smooth and sound. Confirm the selected resilient flooring is compatible with the profile and assess the layout before cutting the 2m lengths, allowing for corners, returns and joints.
Apply a suitable adhesive in accordance with the complete flooring-system specification. Position the skirting accurately and bond it firmly to the wall, keeping the profile straight and ensuring the 50mm foot is flat, secure and ready to receive the floorcovering.
Install the resilient flooring into the set-in detail, then complete hot or cold welding as appropriate for the floorcovering and installation requirements. Check all welded seams and corner details carefully to ensure a continuous, hygienic finish before the area is put into service.

Clean the SI100/50/2 set-in skirting at the same time as the adjoining resilient floor. A soft mop or cloth with a neutral cleaner is suitable for routine cleaning, helping to keep the wall-to-floor junction free from dust and deposited soil.
Avoid abrasive cleaning pads, solvent products and harsh chemicals that may affect the PVC or welded joint. Inspect the skirting periodically, particularly in hygiene-sensitive areas, to make sure the weld remains intact and there are no damaged sections or openings at joints and corners.
