Set out the full pattern before fitting so the spacing and strip direction remain consistent across the room. If the main LVT planks are bevelled, use an inlay accessory 0.5mm thinner than the flooring gauge, as recommended by Polyflor.
Polyflor Marquetry Strips are decorative LVT inlay accessories used between wood-effect planks. They add a fine line of contrasting timber colour, making it possible to create ship-decking effects, perimeter borders and subtle feature details within a glue-down vinyl floor.
The strips are available in several wood tones to complement or contrast with the chosen plank. Their slender profile adds visual interest without overpowering the overall floor design, making them suitable for both contemporary and more traditional schemes.
Different gauge options are available to match compatible LVT flooring. This is important for achieving a level finish, particularly where the main planks have bevelled edges.
Polyflor Marquetry Strips are LVT inlay accessories used between compatible planks to create details such as ships decking, borders and highlighted floor features. They must be incorporated during the original glue-down LVT installation.
Check the strip gauge is suitable for the main LVT flooring. Where the selected plank has bevelled edges, use an accessory that is 0.5mm thinner than the main plank to help achieve a level surface.
Set out the complete design before applying adhesive, confirming the strip positions and cut lengths. Install the strips with a compatible adhesive alongside the LVT planks, ensuring joints are neat, aligned and free from gaps or raised edges.
Roll the completed floor thoroughly and avoid heavy traffic until the adhesive has cured.

Polyflor Marquetry Strips are maintained as part of the completed LVT floor. Remove loose dirt and grit regularly using a soft brush, dry mop or hard-floor vacuum attachment to help preserve the appearance of both the strips and surrounding planks.
Use a damp mop with a neutral cleaner suitable for vinyl flooring. Avoid abrasive pads, solvent-based products and harsh chemicals, as these can affect the finished floor surface.
Use entrance matting to reduce tracked-in dirt and fit protective pads beneath furniture where necessary. If a marquetry strip is damaged or becomes loose, it should be repaired by a competent flooring installer.
