The subfloor must be clean, dry, structurally sound and free from dust, grease, paint, laitance and loose material. Shake the latex liquid, pour it into a clean mixing container and gradually add the powder while mixing with a slow-speed drill and paddle. Do not add extra water or latex liquid. Always follow the latest Mapei technical and safety guidance before application.
Mapei Latexplan Trade is a two-part smoothing and levelling compound for preparing internal subfloors before fitting a new floor covering. Supplied as a 25kg powder bag with a 5kg bottle of latex liquid, it helps create a smooth, even surface over suitably prepared new and existing substrates.
Designed for professional flooring preparation, Latexplan Trade is a reliable choice for smoothing out uneven concrete floors and screeds ahead of LVT, vinyl, carpet, laminate or wood installation. Its low-odour formulation also makes it suitable for occupied properties and enclosed working areas.
Mapei Latexplan Trade is a two-part system comprising a 25kg powder bag and a 5kg latex liquid bottle. Ensure the subfloor is sound, clean and free from dust, loose material, grease, paint, curing agents and other bond-breaking residues. Prime the substrate where required by the manufacturer.
Mix the full 5kg bottle of liquid with the full 25kg powder bag using a suitable mechanical mixer, following the current technical data sheet. Do not add water or extra latex, as this will alter the designed performance of the compound.
Apply the mixed material to the prepared subfloor with a smooth-edged trowel or suitable levelling tools. Latexplan Trade is intended for smoothing and levelling from 1mm to 10mm in a single application. Work within the product’s stated working time and use a spiked roller where necessary to assist a smooth finish.
Allow the compound to dry fully before applying adhesive or fitting the final floor covering. Drying time will vary with thickness, temperature, humidity and the condition of the substrate, so confirm the surface is ready before proceeding.

Latexplan Trade is a preparation layer and should be protected until the final floor finish is installed. Keep the cured surface clean, dry and free from dust, oil, adhesive residue and other contamination that could affect the next stage of the installation.
Do not treat the compound as a finished wearing surface. Avoid dragging equipment across it, dropping heavy items onto it or exposing it to unnecessary traffic before the recommended curing period has elapsed.
Before applying adhesive or laying the finished floor, inspect the surface for contamination, damage or weak areas. Repair or prepare any affected section in line with the current Mapei guidance.
