The Carpet Cover Gold 2.7m is a screw-down profile for joining two carpeted areas with a neat, secure finish. It covers and protects the carpet edges along wider openings, room transitions or longer joins, helping the completed installation look clean and professionally finished.
Angled ribs on the underside grip into the carpet pile as the profile is fixed down, pulling the two carpet edges together and helping to keep them in place. The longer 2.7m length is useful where a standard doorway strip is too short, and can be cut down for a more tailored fit.
Measure the full join before cutting the 2.7m carpet cover to size. Use an appropriate saw for metal profiles, then carefully remove sharp edges after cutting.
Place the trim centrally over the carpet join, ensuring that the ribbed underside sits evenly across both carpet edges. The profile should cover the join cleanly without creating tension or bunching in the carpet.
Mark the fixing points and choose screws and plugs suitable for the subfloor. Drill where required, then screw the profile down gradually and evenly so it remains straight along its length. Do not overtighten the screws, as this may cause the metal to bow.
For longer runs, check alignment before fully securing the strip. Once installed, make sure the carpet edges are held neatly, the profile sits flat and the transition is safe for everyday traffic.

Wipe the carpet cover strip with a soft damp cloth to remove dust and everyday marks, then dry it to maintain the gold finish. Avoid abrasive cloths, scouring products and solvent-based cleaners.
Inspect the profile occasionally, especially in heavily used doorways or transitions. Any loose screws or lifted edges should be dealt with promptly to keep the cover strip secure and level.
Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the trim, as this can scratch the surface or distort the profile.
