The subfloor should be smooth, dry, clean and structurally sound before application. Spread the adhesive evenly with the recommended trowel. Lay the carpet or underlay into wet adhesive for a permanent bond, or allow the adhesive to dry before fitting where a peelable release bond is required. Check floor-covering compatibility before installation.
STYCCOBOND F40 is a water-based, high-tack adhesive designed for carpet, underlay and release-bond systems. It dries to a transparent, permanently tacky film and can be used to create either a permanent or peelable bond, depending on when the floor covering is laid.
The 15-litre pack is suitable for larger carpet installations. When carpet or an approved release underlay is fitted after the adhesive has dried, the installation can be lifted later with reduced risk of damage to the subfloor.
STYCCOBOND F40 is a solvent-free, water-based, high-tack adhesive that dries to a clear, permanently tacky film. It can create either a permanent or peelable bond, depending on when the floorcovering is laid into the adhesive.
Prepare the subfloor so it is smooth, dry, sound and free from dust, grease, loose material and other contaminants. Check that both the chosen floorcovering and the substrate are suitable for use with this adhesive before application.
Spread F40 evenly using the recommended roller or notched trowel. Installing the carpet or underlay while the adhesive is still wet gives a permanent bond; allowing it to dry first provides a peelable release bond for compatible carpets, carpet tiles and release-underlay systems.
At 20°C, the adhesive normally dries from around 40 minutes, depending on temperature, humidity and substrate absorbency.

Remove wet STYCCOBOND F40 from tools and adjacent surfaces promptly, following the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance. Keep the newly installed carpet, carpet tile or release-underlay system free from traffic, furniture movement and wet cleaning until the adhesive has dried and the installation is secure.
Once the floor is in service, maintain the carpet or floorcovering in line with its own manufacturer’s recommendations. Regular vacuuming and prompt attention to spills will help preserve the finished installation.
