Install Heat-Foil on a clean, dry, level subfloor, keeping the underlay flat and sealing the overlap neatly as it is laid. For floor-cooling systems, ensure an effective vapour-control system is included to manage moisture transmission. Follow the flooring manufacturer’s fitting requirements for the chosen click laminate or engineered wood floor.
Unifloor Heat-Foil is an ultra-slim acoustic underlay made for floating click laminate and engineered wood flooring installed over underfloor heating or cooling systems. Its 1.2mm profile keeps floor build-up to a minimum while allowing heat to transfer efficiently into the finished floor.
The underlay also helps reduce room-to-room noise, providing up to 21dB impact-sound reduction depending on the floor covering used. A polyethylene foil layer and self-adhesive overlap make the installation neat and practical, with each roll providing 15m² of coverage.
Unifloor Heat-Foil is a 1.2mm acoustic underlay developed for click laminate and engineered wood flooring over compatible underfloor-heating or cooling systems. Its low thermal resistance of TOG 0.14 is designed to help heat transfer while keeping floor build-up to a minimum.
The subfloor must be clean, dry, flat and structurally sound. Follow the heating or cooling system manufacturer’s commissioning instructions and ensure the system and floorcovering are approved for use together. Where floor cooling is in use, a suitable vapour-protection system must be present.
Roll Heat-Foil out across the prepared floor, keeping the sheets flat and tightly butted. Use the self-adhesive overlap to seal the joins, then install the click laminate or engineered-wood floor as a floating floor in accordance with its fitting instructions. Do not puncture the underlay unnecessarily.
Each roll measures approximately 1m x 15m and covers 15m². When used with click laminate or engineered wood, Heat-Foil provides an impact-sound reduction of up to 21dB ΔLw. Refer to the Unifloor Heat-Foil product information before installation.

Unifloor Heat-Foil is installed beneath the finished floor and requires no separate routine maintenance. Keep the floor above clean according to the laminate or engineered-wood manufacturer’s guidance, avoiding excess water that could reach joints or edges.
If the flooring is lifted for repair or replacement, inspect the underlay and its sealed overlaps for damage before refitting. Replace any section that has been punctured or cannot provide a continuous, even base.
