Prepare the substrate so it is sound, clean, absorbent and free from surface contamination. Mix the two components fully and apply the membrane in accordance with F. Ball’s current technical instructions. Allow it to cure completely before proceeding with the compatible smoothing compound, adhesive or floor-covering system.
STOPGAP F77 3kg Kit is a compact, two-part epoxy waterproof surface membrane for controlling excess moisture in internal subfloors before new flooring is installed. It is ideal for smaller areas, repairs and localised moisture-control work where a full-size kit is not required.
Applied in a single coat, the solvent-free system helps stop residual construction moisture and rising damp from affecting the adhesive and floor covering above. Its black colour provides a useful visual check during application, helping ensure the surface has been coated evenly.
STOPGAP F77 3kg Kit is a solvent-free, two-component epoxy membrane for controlling residual construction moisture and rising damp beneath new floor installations. It is suited to smaller areas, localised treatment and detail work where the specified F77 system is required.
Measure and record the subfloor RH before starting. The surface must be clean, dry enough for the system, sound and absorbent, with cement laitance, curing agents, contaminants and weak material removed. Smooth or repair rough areas before applying the membrane.
Thoroughly combine both components of the 3kg kit in the proportions supplied, then apply the mixture at the coverage rate required for the moisture reading. Use the black colour of the cured coating to help identify any missed or thin areas during application.
The mixed membrane has an approximate working time of 30 minutes and normally cures in around 3 hours at 20°C. Continue only once the membrane has cured and the correct overcoating system has been confirmed.

STOPGAP F77 forms part of the subfloor preparation system and must be protected after curing. Keep the membrane free from dust, moisture, punctures and unnecessary site traffic while the installation is being completed.
Check the cured coating before overcoating. It should be continuous, fully covered and without pinholes, damaged patches or exposed subfloor. Rectify any affected areas before moving on to the next stage.
