Make sure the substrate is clean, sound, absorbent and correctly mechanically prepared before applying the membrane. Mix both components thoroughly and apply STOPGAP F77 as specified by F. Ball. Allow the coating to cure fully before installing the approved smoothing compound, adhesive or final floor covering.
STOPGAP F77 7kg Kit is a two-part epoxy moisture-control system for internal flooring work. It provides a single-coat waterproof surface membrane that helps prevent residual construction moisture and rising damp from affecting subsequent adhesives and floor coverings.
The 7kg size is well suited to medium-sized rooms and localised moisture-control projects. Its black-pigmented finish helps the installer monitor coverage during application, while the rapid-curing formulation supports quicker progress through the floor-preparation process.
STOPGAP F77 7kg Kit is a two-part epoxy waterproof surface membrane for internal subfloors. It is designed to impede residual moisture and rising damp before the installation of compatible floorcoverings, including where readings are up to 98% RH.
Carry out and record the relevant moisture tests before work starts. Prepare the subfloor to a clean, sound and slightly textured finish, removing cement laitance, curing agents, old contamination and any weak surface material. Repair or smooth damaged areas before applying F77.
Mix the supplied components completely and apply the membrane evenly within its working time. The black pigmentation helps the installer see where coverage has been achieved. Use the application rate specified by F. Ball for the measured RH level and ensure there are no uncoated sections.
At 20°C, STOPGAP F77 generally has a working time of around 30 minutes and cures in approximately 3 hours. Allow for longer curing in cooler conditions and follow the manufacturer’s system guidance before overcoating.

A cured STOPGAP F77 membrane should remain covered and protected until the approved flooring preparation system is installed. Do not allow sharp tools, heavy materials, dust or debris to damage the barrier.
Before applying a subsequent smoothing layer, adhesive or floorcovering, check that the membrane is sound and unbroken. Any pinholes, scratches or incomplete coverage must be addressed in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.
