Bostik Screedmaster SL C500 Ultimate is a two-part cementitious smoothing compound for preparing uneven internal subfloors before fitting carpet, LVT, vinyl, tiles and other floor coverings. The 20kg powder is mixed with the supplied 4.3L latex liquid to create a smooth, free-flowing compound that is easy to spread and gives a neat, level surface.
It is a practical choice for both refurbishment and new-build work, especially where low odour and moisture tolerance are important. SL C500 Ultimate is protein-free, suitable for use in occupied buildings and compatible with a wide range of common subfloors when correctly prepared and primed.
Prepare the subfloor thoroughly before application. It must be sound, clean and free from dust, grease, loose material, old tackifier residues and other contaminants that could affect adhesion. Use the appropriate Bostik primer where required for the substrate and project conditions.
Shake the 4.3L latex liquid well, pour the full bottle into a clean mixing vessel, then gradually add the 20kg powder while mixing with a slow-speed electric drill and paddle. Mix to a smooth, lump-free consistency; do not add extra water or split the pack unless Bostik’s latest technical instructions specifically allow it.
Apply the mixed compound promptly, using a smoothing trowel to achieve the required finish. SL C500 Ultimate can be worked from a feather edge up to 10mm in a single application. It is for internal use and must be covered with a suitable floor finish rather than left exposed as a wearing surface.
Where warm-water underfloor heating is present, follow the heating-system commissioning procedure and ensure the surface temperature does not exceed 27°C during use. Always confirm drying time, floor-covering compatibility and any damp-proof-membrane requirements before proceeding.

Screedmaster SL C500 Ultimate is a preparatory underlayment, not a finished floor surface. Once it has cured, protect it from unnecessary traffic, impact and contamination until the chosen floor covering is installed.
Clean mixing tools and equipment with warm, soapy water immediately after use, before the material hardens. Remove splashes from surrounding surfaces while still wet; cured compound generally requires mechanical removal.
Keep the completed surface dry, clean and free from dust before applying adhesive or installing the final floor finish. Check that the screed has cured sufficiently for the intended covering and site conditions.
