Resilient flooring
Install the CF38 onto a clean, dry and sound wall-to-floor junction with a suitable adhesive. Fit the resilient flooring over the curved profile and dress it up the wall, then finish the exposed upper edge with a compatible capping seal or carpet cap as required.
The Gradus CF38 Cove Former provides a generous 38 mm curved support where resilient flooring is taken up the wall. It removes the sharp floor-to-wall corner, allowing vinyl flooring to form a smooth skirting detail that looks professional and is easier to keep clean.
By supporting the material at this point, the profile helps avoid stress and damage where flooring would otherwise bend sharply. It is a useful finishing component for safety vinyl and sheet-vinyl installations in environments that need a hygienic, continuous surface.
The CF38 is supplied as a 2 metre black PVC profile and contains up to 100% recycled content. Pair it with a suitable capping seal or carpet cap to complete the upper edge of the coved flooring.
Gradus CF38 is a 38mm PVC cove former for internal resilient flooring. It supports the floorcovering as it is formed up the wall, producing a generous coved skirting detail that avoids a vulnerable sharp crease at the wall base.
Ensure the wall and floor surfaces are sound, clean, dry and smooth before installation. Accurately measure each section, including returns and corners, and cut the 2m lengths to suit the planned layout. Dry-fit the profile first to check that the cove line is consistent.
Use an adhesive that is approved for the PVC cove former, substrate and flooring system. Bond the profile securely along the full run, keeping joints tight and the curve even before fitting the resilient floorcovering over it.
Finish the exposed top edge with a compatible capping seal or carpet cap as specified for the project. Any welding, sealing and waterproofing work should follow the floorcovering manufacturer’s installation instructions.

The CF38 cove former sits behind the resilient floorcovering and is maintained through the finished floor-and-wall detail. Clean this area using the approved routine for the installed flooring, taking care to remove dust from the curved junction and upper edge.
Do not scrub the cove with abrasive tools or use aggressive chemical cleaners that may affect the flooring or capping components. Periodically inspect the curved floorcovering and edge seal for lifting, splits or damage, particularly in heavily used areas.
