Ensure the repair area is sound, clean and free from loose material, dust and contamination. Mix STOPGAP 400 with clean water as directed by F. Ball, press it firmly into the repair and finish the surface to the required profile. Allow sufficient curing time before applying a smoothing compound or the final floor-covering system.
STOPGAP 400 is a rapid repair compound for restoring internal floor surfaces before applying a smoothing compound or installing the final flooring system. It is designed for repairs in light to heavy-duty areas, making it a practical solution for cracks, holes, damaged edges and localised unevenness.
The slump-free formulation can be trowelled to a feather edge for a precise repair and is also suitable for internal stairs, steps, ramps and covings. With a walk-on time from approximately 20 minutes, it helps keep floor-preparation work moving when time on site is limited.
STOPGAP 400 is a rapid-setting, water-mix repair compound for internal floors. It is designed to repair cracks, holes, ramps, covings, stairs and steps before the application of a compatible STOPGAP smoothing compound.
Prepare the substrate so it is clean, sound and free from loose material, dust, grease and other contaminants. Confirm the correct preparation and priming method for the existing surface before application, especially on non-absorbent backgrounds.
Mix the 10kg powder with clean water in the proportions stated in the current technical data sheet, then trowel the compound firmly into the repair. It can be applied from 2mm to 50mm and feathered to a fine edge where a smooth transition is needed.
