For the intended safety performance, Polysafe Apex should be installed by a competent flooring contractor onto a smooth, dry and sound subfloor. Use the appropriate adhesive and matching weld rod, then heat-weld the sheet joints in line with Polyflor’s latest installation guidance.
Polyflor Polysafe Apex is a heavy-duty safety vinyl sheet designed for commercial kitchens, food-production areas and other demanding interiors where slip resistance is a key requirement. Its hard-wearing 2.5mm construction is made to cope with high footfall and areas exposed to high-viscosity contaminants.
The range provides a wet pendulum-test result of 45 or above using Slider 96, together with an R12 slip resistance rating. When correctly installed with hot-welded seams, the floor creates a continuous, impervious surface that is practical to clean and maintain.
Polysafe Apex is supplied in six mineral-inspired colours, giving commercial spaces a durable safety-floor solution without limiting the overall design scheme.
Polyflor Polysafe Apex is a 2.5mm heavy-duty safety vinyl supplied in sheet form. It should be installed by an experienced flooring contractor, especially in commercial kitchens, food-production areas and other environments requiring an impervious finish.
Prepare the subfloor so it is smooth, dry, clean and structurally sound. Complete moisture testing, smoothing and any required damp-proofing before installation, ensuring the surface is free from dust, grease and loose material.
Allow the sheet material, adhesive and subfloor to acclimatise before fitting. Lay the sheets using a compatible adhesive and roll them thoroughly to achieve a secure, even bond. Where an impervious installation is required, seams should be grooved and heat welded with the correct weld rod.
Complete coving, edge details and transitions in accordance with the project specification before allowing the floor into service.

Polysafe Apex is a safety floor, so keeping its textured surface clean is essential for maintaining slip resistance. Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove loose food debris, grit and other contaminants, particularly in busy preparation and service areas.
Clean using a compatible neutral cleaner and warm water, then rinse thoroughly to remove any residue. For heavier soiling, use suitable mechanical cleaning equipment or a deck brush in line with the maintenance guidance for the area.
Do not apply polish, dressings or surface coatings, as these can reduce the floor’s safety performance. Deal with spillages promptly and maintain a planned cleaning routine so the surface texture does not become blocked with grease or dirt.
