Install PCS40 on a clean, sound wall surface with a suitable adhesive. Use it with a compatible cove former to support the resilient flooring as it curves up the wall, then confirm the selected flooring is suitable for cap-and-cove installation before work begins.
Gradus PCS40 is a flexible PVC capping seal used to finish the top edge of 2 mm resilient flooring where it has been coved up the wall. It completes the skirting detail neatly, covering the raw upper edge of the flooring for a more polished and easy-to-clean finish.
The profile is usually fitted with a compatible cove former, allowing the flooring to curve smoothly from the floor up the wall. This practical cap-and-cove detail is widely used in commercial interiors where regular cleaning and a continuous floor finish are important.
Supplied in a convenient 2 metre length, PCS40 is available in a broad choice of standard colours, helping you coordinate the finishing profile with the selected flooring and interior scheme.
Gradus PCS40 is a flexible PVC capping seal for use with 2mm resilient floorcoverings that have been coved up the wall. It provides a neat finish to the top of the flooring upstand and is typically fitted alongside a suitable cove former.
Prepare the wall and coved floorcovering so they are clean, dry, smooth and fully secure. Measure each wall run, mark the required lengths and dry-fit the capping seal before adhesive is applied. Plan corner details and joints carefully for a continuous appearance.
Use an adhesive that is compatible with the PVC profile, wall substrate and resilient-floor system. Position the PCS40 evenly along the upper edge of the floorcovering, then press firmly across the full 2m length to achieve complete contact.
Finish corners and joins accurately, ensuring that the seal sits straight with no ripples or unbonded areas. Allow the adhesive to cure as specified before carrying out routine cleaning or exposing the area to normal use.

Maintain the PCS40 capping seal as part of the finished resilient-floor installation. Regular dry removal of dust, followed by damp cleaning with a neutral cleaner where required, will keep the top edge of the wall upstand looking tidy.
Avoid harsh solvents, abrasive cloths and aggressive chemical cleaners. During routine floor inspections, check that the 2m sections and any joints remain secure, with no gaps between the seal, wall and coved floorcovering.
