Ensure the subfloor is dry, clean, smooth and level before installation. Use the fitting method recommended for the chosen floor covering and adhesive system. For single-stick applications, System Ten should not be used in areas larger than 33 m². Always follow the covering and adhesive manufacturers’ instructions.
Duralay System Ten is a dense crumb rubber underlay designed for demanding carpet and natural-fibre floor covering installations. At 9.2 mm thick, it combines a supportive feel underfoot with the stability needed for products such as sisal, coir and seagrass.
Its high-density construction makes it a good choice when a floor covering needs to remain flat and well supported over time. System Ten can be used for conventional stretch-fit carpet installation as well as single-stick and double-stick systems, giving professional fitters flexibility across a range of projects.
With 31 dB impact sound insulation and a 1.55 tog thermal rating, it offers practical comfort alongside strong durability. It is suitable for both domestic and commercial flooring applications.
Before fitting, condition the underlay and floor covering in the installation area. The subfloor must be dry, clean, sound and smooth, with loose material, uneven areas and protruding fixings corrected before the work begins.
System Ten can be used for stretch-fit, single-stick or double-stick installations, depending on the selected carpet or natural floor covering. For stretch-fit carpet, fit appropriate gripper around the room perimeter, lay the underlay flat, butt the joints closely together and tape them securely before stretching the carpet into place.
For single-stick or double-stick installations, use adhesives approved for the subfloor, underlay and final floor covering. Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions for priming, spread rate, tack time, curing and rolling. The final installation method must always match the requirements of the chosen floor covering.

Duralay System Ten is installed beneath the floor covering and does not require separate routine care. Its crumb-rubber construction provides a supportive layer beneath carpet or suitable natural floor coverings, so ongoing maintenance should follow the requirements of the finished surface.
Avoid excessive moisture reaching the underlay. Address leaks, flooding and deeply saturated carpet-cleaning incidents without delay, as trapped water may affect adhesives, the subfloor and the performance of the complete flooring system.
