CFS Formation Linear Tile is a commercial loop-pile carpet tile with a subtle striped design that brings direction and movement to the floor. It works well when you want more visual interest than a plain tile, without using an overly bold pattern.
The linear designs can be used on their own or combined with the plain CFS Formation range to define walkways, breakout areas or different zones within the same building. With eight linear colourways available, it is an easy way to introduce a more considered finish into an office, school, retail space or hospitality project.
Made with 100% polypropylene pile and a durable Mexphalte backing, Formation Linear is designed for regular commercial use. Its Class 33 rating, continuous castor-chair suitability and 50 cm x 50 cm format make it a practical option for large projects as well as smaller refurbishments.
Acclimatise the tiles in the installation area before fitting. The subfloor must be dry, clean, level and structurally sound, with all defects, loose material and surface contamination removed or repaired before work starts.
Set out the room using suitable datum lines and plan balanced cuts at the perimeter. The linear design should be installed in a consistent direction unless a deliberately varied layout has been approved, as changing orientation will affect the finished visual effect.
Use a suitable carpet-tile tackifier or adhesive compatible with the Mexphalte backing, the subfloor and anticipated traffic levels. Apply it evenly, observe the required tack time, then install the 500mm x 500mm tiles closely edge to edge without gaps, overlap or undue force.
Trim perimeter tiles carefully at walls, door frames and fixed features. Complete exposed edges with suitable trims and retain matching tiles for future maintenance.

Vacuum CFS Formation Linear Tile regularly to remove dry soil from the loop-pile surface. Pay particular attention to entrances, corridors and high-use areas, and use effective entrance matting to reduce abrasive grit entering the space.
For spills, blot promptly with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing or soaking the tiles. Use a carpet cleaner suitable for polypropylene carpet tiles, testing first on a spare or concealed tile.
Adopt a periodic professional cleaning programme where traffic levels require it. Retain spare tiles from the same batch to allow damaged or permanently marked sections to be replaced easily.
