Before installation, make sure the subfloor is clean, dry, level and structurally sound. Lay the underlay flat, trim it neatly to the room shape and keep joins even. Install the laminate over the underlay in accordance with the flooring manufacturer’s fitting instructions, including all required expansion gaps and any moisture-control requirements.
Vanguard Astro-Foam White Underlay is a practical flooring accessory for use beneath compatible laminate-floor installations. It forms an intermediary layer between the prepared subfloor and the finished boards, helping create a more considered base before the floor is laid.
Its white foam format is lightweight and simple to cut around room edges, door frames and fixed features. Astro-Foam is a straightforward underlay choice for projects where the selected laminate system requires a compatible foam layer.
Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, sound, level and free from dust, debris and other irregularities before installation. Roll out the Vanguard Astro-Foam White Underlay over the prepared floor, keeping the material flat and free from folds, creases and overlaps, and cut accurately around walls and fixed obstacles. Join adjacent sections neatly in accordance with the requirements of the selected floorcovering system and install the final flooring in line with the flooring manufacturer’s instructions. Astro-Foam is a PE foam underlay designed for domestic applications and provides coverage of approximately 15m² per pack. Always confirm compatibility with the selected laminate or flooring system and follow the latest manufacturer’s fitting recommendations before installation.

Vanguard Astro-Foam White Underlay is installed beneath the finished floorcovering and requires no separate routine maintenance once covered. Keep the finished flooring clean and maintained according to the flooring manufacturer’s instructions, and avoid excessive moisture, sharp objects or fixings that could penetrate the flooring and damage the underlay. If the floorcovering is removed during future refurbishment, inspect the underlay for compression, tears, movement or other visible damage before reusing or replacing it.
