Add the aggregate only to a correctly prepared mix of the specific Stopgap smoothing compound being used. The mixing ratio, maximum application depth and suitable subfloor types vary by product, so always follow the current F. Ball technical data sheet for the chosen smoothing compound. Do not use aggregate as a standalone levelling material.
Ball Stopgap Graded Aggregate is a 25 kg bag of specially graded aggregate used to bulk out compatible Stopgap smoothing compounds. It is added to the mixed compound when a thicker application is required, helping installers build up uneven areas more economically than using smoothing compound alone.
This is a practical site product for floor preparation work where deeper sections need filling before the final floorcovering is installed. It is designed for use with selected F. Ball smoothing compounds, so the correct compound data sheet should always be checked before mixing.
Using the specified aggregate can help create a more cost-effective filled mix while retaining the performance of the chosen Stopgap product. It is intended for professional flooring preparation and should be mixed only at the ratio stated in the relevant technical instructions.
STOPGAP Graded Aggregate is not a standalone levelling compound. It is added to selected compatible F. Ball STOPGAP smoothing or repair compounds when a thicker application is required. Always check the technical data sheet for the exact compound being used before starting, as suitability, mixing ratio, water adjustment and maximum thickness vary by product.
Prepare and prime the subfloor as specified for the chosen smoothing compound. Mix the standard compound first, then add the required quantity of graded aggregate while mixing until the material is even and fully combined. Do not guess the water addition: follow the relevant product data sheet to avoid separation, poor flow or reduced strength.
Apply the filled mix within its stated working time and at the permitted thickness. Allow it to set and dry as directed before applying a finishing layer or installing the final floor covering.

STOPGAP Graded Aggregate is a dry mineral additive used during floor preparation and requires no maintenance once incorporated into a compatible smoothing compound. Keep unopened and part-used bags dry, securely closed and raised clear of damp floors to prevent contamination or clumping.
Do not use aggregate that has become wet, dirty or mixed with other materials. Store it separately from ready-mixed compounds and dispose of unused or contaminated material responsibly in accordance with local waste requirements.
