Finishing and protecting flooring edges
Measure the full opening before cutting the profile and make sure the edge trim suits the floor thickness. Secure the trim with appropriate fixings for the subfloor to achieve a firm, even finish.
The Lino Edge 4.5mm Silver is a longer-length finishing profile for vinyl and lino flooring. It gives the edge of the floor a clean, controlled finish at doorways and transitions, helping to prevent the installation from looking rough or incomplete.
At 2.7m long, this trim is a useful option for wide thresholds, longer runs and projects with several smaller openings to finish. The polished silver surface gives a fresh, understated appearance that fits easily into modern homes and commercial spaces.
This profile is intended for floor coverings up to approximately 4.5mm thick. Confirm the finished thickness of the flooring before fitting; it should sit comfortably in the profile without being compressed or forced.
Prepare the exposed flooring edge so it is clean, dry, straight and fully bonded where required. Support the longer profile during transport and handling, then mark the required length before cutting.
Use a fine-tooth saw to cut the trim accurately and remove any sharp burrs. Dry-fit the profile along the full run first, checking that it follows the flooring edge and sits flat without rocking.
Secure the trim using fixings suitable for the subfloor, spacing them appropriately for a firm installation. Check for pipes, electrical cables and underfloor heating before drilling. Once fitted, make sure the completed edge is stable, smooth and safe underfoot.

Vacuum or sweep the threshold regularly to prevent hard grit collecting along the silver edge profile. Clean the visible surface with a soft cloth and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner, then dry it thoroughly.
Avoid abrasive scrubbers, scouring powders and solvent cleaners. These can scratch the polished finish and reduce the appearance of the trim.
Inspect the full 2.7m run periodically to ensure the profile is still secure, level and free from movement. Any loose fixings or lifting flooring edges should be addressed promptly.
