Prepare the subfloor so it is sound, clean and correctly primed where necessary. Add the powder gradually to clean water and mix to a smooth, lump-free consistency in accordance with F. Ball’s current instructions. Because the product sets quickly, mix only the quantity that can be applied within its working time.
STOPGAP FAST-TRACK 30 is an ultra-rapid smoothing compound for internal flooring projects where downtime must be kept to a minimum. Its advanced binder technology allows the compound to harden quickly, helping create a smooth base for new floor coverings in a fraction of the usual preparation time.
Suitable for sound absorbent and non-absorbent subfloors, it can be used in light to heavy-duty areas. At 20°C, it is walk-on hard from approximately 30 minutes and can receive both textile and resilient floor coverings from approximately 45 minutes.
STOPGAP FAST-TRACK 30 is a rapid-setting, rapid-drying, water-mix smoothing compound for preparing sound absorbent and non-absorbent internal subfloors. It is suitable for light- to heavy-duty applications where a short turnaround is required.
Prepare the substrate so it is clean, sound and free from dust, grease, laitance, loose material and other contaminants. Select the correct preparation and primer for the background, allowing any primer to dry fully before application.
Mix the 16kg powder with clean water following the ratio in the current F. Ball technical data sheet. Pour and spread evenly, allowing the compound to self-smooth. It can be applied from 2mm to 10mm in a single application.
At 20°C, the surface is normally walkable after approximately 30 minutes. Textile and resilient floorcoverings can be installed from around 45 minutes, subject to thickness and site conditions.

Once STOPGAP FAST-TRACK 30 has cured, keep the prepared subfloor clean, dry and protected until the floorcovering is installed. Prevent damage from tools, traffic, dust and contamination, as surface imperfections can show through the final finish.
Before applying adhesive, check that the smoothing layer is dry, sound and free from loose material. After flooring has been fitted, follow the care guidance for the finished floor rather than the smoothing compound.
