Measure the doorway before cutting, then position the cover strip so it sits evenly over the join. Use a fixing method suitable for the floor and subfloor, taking care not to trap or damage the flooring beneath.
A small finishing detail can make a real difference at a doorway. This Large Lino Cover provides a neat gold cover strip for finishing joins between floor coverings, helping to hide the exposed gap where materials meet.
Its wider 1.5 inch profile gives good coverage across a join, making it a practical choice where a standard narrow trim may not be enough. At 0.9m long, it is well suited to most internal doorways and brings a warm, traditional gold finish to the threshold.
Fit this wide lino cover only after both adjoining floor finishes are securely installed and the threshold area is clean, dry and level. Check that the profile provides adequate coverage across the join without creating an unnecessary trip edge.
Measure the doorway carefully and mark the profile before cutting. Cut squarely with a suitable fine-tooth saw, then remove any sharp burrs from the cut edge before positioning the trim.
Centre the cover evenly over the flooring join, allowing it to sit flat without pinching or stressing the floor covering beneath. Secure it using fixings suitable for the subfloor, taking care to avoid hidden pipes, cables and underfloor-heating components.
Do not overtighten the fixings, as this can distort the profile or restrict natural movement of the floor finish. Check the threshold is stable and flush before use.

Keep the gold lino cover free from grit and debris by sweeping or vacuuming around the doorway regularly. Wipe the visible surface with a soft, damp cloth and a mild neutral cleaner, then dry it thoroughly.
Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and strong solvents, as these may dull or damage the decorative finish. Clean up standing water promptly, particularly in kitchens, utility rooms and entrance areas.
Periodically check that the trim remains firmly secured and that no sharp edges have developed around the cut ends or fixings.
