Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry and level before installation. Lay the underlay flat with the printed side facing upwards, butt the joins neatly together and tape them securely. Fit a compatible carpet using the appropriate stretch-fit method and follow the carpet manufacturer’s installation guidance.
Duralay Colours Red Tredaire is a premium sponge rubber carpet underlay designed for a noticeably softer, more substantial feel underfoot. At 11.4 mm thick, it gives carpet a supportive base while adding welcome comfort in the rooms where people spend the most time.
With 46 dB impact sound insulation, it helps reduce the sound of footsteps travelling through the floor. Its 1.65 tog thermal rating also adds a layer of warmth beneath the carpet, making it especially appealing in bedrooms, lounges and other comfort-led spaces.
This is a stretch-fit underlay for domestic carpet installations. Its high-density sponge construction supports the carpet from below, helping it retain a better appearance and feel throughout everyday use.
This 11.4mm underlay is intended for stretch-fit carpet installations. Before fitting, allow the rolls to acclimatise in the installation area and prepare the subfloor so it is dry, clean, smooth and free from protruding nails, loose material or sharp imperfections.
Install suitable gripper around the room perimeter, allowing the correct clearance from walls and thresholds. Lay the underlay flat across the floor, trimming it neatly around corners, door frames and fixed items. Keep adjoining lengths tightly butted together without overlaps, then tape the joints with suitable underlay tape.
Fit the carpet over the underlay using appropriate stretching equipment and secure it to the gripper. Take particular care at doorways and stairs to achieve a firm, safe finish, and follow the carpet manufacturer’s installation instructions throughout.

Duralay Colours Red Tredaire is a sponge-rubber carpet underlay and does not need cleaning once it is installed. Its purpose is to support the carpet, improve comfort and help reduce footfall sound, so ongoing maintenance should focus on the carpet above.
Prevent moisture from reaching the underlay wherever possible. Deal with leaks and significant spills promptly, as trapped damp can affect the carpet, subfloor and underlay system. When having the carpet professionally cleaned, avoid over-wetting and allow the area to dry thoroughly.
