Lay Recolay according to the flooring manufacturer’s instructions and confirm that the selected LVT system is approved for use over an acoustic underlay. For the best result, use compatible adhesives and installation materials throughout the flooring system.
CFS Recolay 1.6 mm is an ultra-thin acoustic underlay made for use beneath luxury vinyl tile flooring. It is a useful choice when you want to reduce impact noise without adding unnecessary height to the finished floor, making it well suited to renovation projects and rooms where floor levels need to stay low.
Made from 100% recycled cork and EVA, Recolay combines a firm, stable feel with effective acoustic performance. It provides up to 18 dB impact sound reduction when used beneath compatible LVT, helping make rooms feel quieter underfoot. At only 1.6 mm thick, it supports the flooring above without significantly changing transitions at doors or adjoining rooms.
Each roll covers 15 m² and comes with a 10-year in-use warranty. Always check that the chosen LVT manufacturer approves the use of an underlay before installation, as requirements can differ between glue-down, click and rigid-core LVT products.
CFS Recolay 1.6mm is an ultra-thin acoustic underlay for use beneath LVT. Confirm that the selected LVT, adhesive and subfloor system are compatible with this underlay before work begins, particularly where the LVT manufacturer specifies its own installation requirements.
The subfloor must be dry, smooth, level, clean and structurally sound. Remove all dust, grease, loose debris, paint and old adhesive residues, and repair surface imperfections before laying the underlay. Recolay will not correct unevenness or moisture problems in the base floor.
Acclimatise the material in the installation environment, then roll it out flat over the prepared floor. Lay adjacent lengths neatly with tight butt joints and without overlap, ripples or gaps. Cut accurately around walls, door frames and fixed objects, keeping the surface even throughout.
Use the underlay and LVT installation method specified for the project, including any compatible bonding products. Once the underlay is fully secure, install the LVT in accordance with the flooring manufacturer’s instructions and fit suitable trims at exposed edges and thresholds.

CFS Recolay 1.6mm LVT Underlay is concealed beneath the finished LVT and does not need routine cleaning once the floor has been installed. Its long-term performance depends on correct subfloor preparation, a compatible installation system and avoiding water ingress beneath the finished floor.
Before fitting, keep the underlay clean, dry and protected from damage. Do not leave rolls exposed to damp site conditions, heavy equipment or contamination that could affect adhesion or create an uneven finished surface.
After installation, follow the care guidance for the chosen LVT rather than applying cleaning products to the underlay itself. Investigate any signs of moisture, movement or damage to the finished floor promptly.
