Lay the underlay with the correct side facing upward, join edges neatly without overlapping, and trim closely around the perimeter. Use suitable gripper and fitting materials to achieve a secure, professional carpet installation.
CFS Regent 10 mm PU Underlay is a comfortable carpet underlay for homes that want a softer, more cushioned feel underfoot. Its thicker 10 mm profile adds welcome comfort beneath carpet, making bedrooms, living rooms and other everyday spaces feel warmer and more pleasant to walk on.
Made from durable foam chip with a prime PU foam backing, Regent is designed to offer dependable support beneath the carpet while remaining a cost-effective option. It is supplied in a generous roll covering 15.07 m², helping reduce joins and making it suitable for larger rooms.
Although ideal for domestic use, CFS Regent 10 mm carries a Class 33 heavy commercial performance rating. It is a practical choice for anyone looking for a luxury-classified carpet underlay with a little more depth and comfort.
CFS Regent 10mm PU Underlay is a carpet cushion for domestic use and can support demanding areas where the flooring system is correctly specified. Check that the chosen carpet, gripper, adhesive and transition trims are suitable for the installation before work begins.
Prepare the subfloor so it is dry, clean, smooth, firm and free from dust, grease, old adhesive and loose material. Repair any unevenness or instability first. The underlay is not a moisture barrier, so install an appropriate damp-proof system where the subfloor requires one.
Roll out the underlay with the correct side uppermost, keeping all lengths flat and tightly butted together. Do not overlap seams. Trim neatly around walls, door frames and fixed fittings, then tape joins where required to prevent movement during carpet fitting.
Fit gripper around the room perimeter where using a stretch-fit carpet installation, leaving the correct gap from the wall. Position the carpet over the underlay, stretch it securely onto the gripper and finish the perimeter and thresholds with suitable profiles. Avoid compressing or damaging the underlay while moving heavy items into the room.

CFS Regent 10mm PU Underlay is installed beneath the carpet, so it does not require regular cleaning after fitting. Keep the carpet above it well maintained, as the overall life of the floor depends on keeping dirt and moisture out of the carpet and subfloor.
Before installation, store the underlay in a dry indoor area and protect it from site traffic, moisture and contamination. Do not use it to hide a damaged or damp subfloor; any preparation or damp-proofing requirements must be completed before the underlay is laid.
If the carpet is lifted for future repair or replacement, inspect the underlay for compression, damage or moisture before reusing it.
